Duetinė paroda „Žiotys“ – apie susitikimo ir perėjimo būseną

Lietuvos dailininkų sąjungos Kauno skyriaus galerijoje „Drobė“ (Drobės g. 62-308, Kaunas) spalio 10 d. 16 val. atidaroma menininkių Martynos Plioplytės-Zujienės ir Liucijos Dervinytės paroda „Žiotys“ – apie susitikimo ir perėjimo būseną, vietą, kur žmogaus veiklos pėdsakai patenka į gyvąsias sistemas ir tampa jų dalimi. 

Ten, kur upė įteka į jūrą, aiški riba tarp vienos ir kitos sistemos ima nykti. Skirtingi vandenys susitinka, o kartu su jais juda ir tai, ką jie atsineša.

Parodoje skirtingos medžiagos, vaizdai ir informacijos fragmentai kuria santykį tarp to, kas žmogaus sukurta, ir to, ką vadiname aplinka. Tai, kas iš pradžių atrodo atskira, ima veikti kaip vienos sistemos dalis.

Menininkių kūrybinis dialogas prasidėjo dar studijuojant Vilniaus dailės akademijos Tekstilės meno magistrantūroje ir nuo 2023 m. tęsiasi bendruose projektuose, parodose bei kūriniuose. Jas sieja ne tik tekstilė kaip kūrybinė medžiaga, bet ir artimas santykis su aplinka, vartojimo kultūra bei žmogaus atsakomybe joje. „Žiotyse“ dvi savarankiškos meninės praktikos susitinka bendrame tyrimo lauke, kuriame individualūs darbai veikia greta bendrų kūrinių ir procesų.

Žiotys čia nėra vien geografinė vieta. Tai susitikimo zona, kurioje tampa sunku tiksliai pasakyti, kur baigiasi viena ir prasideda kita.

Paroda veiks iki lapkričio 3 d.

Parodos metu numatomi papildomi renginiai – kolektyvinio kūrinio kūrimo dirbtuvės ir dokumentinio filmo „Ocean with David Attenborough“ peržiūra. Tikslią informaciją paskelbsime artimiausiu metu.

Martyna Plioplytė-Zujienė and Liucija Dervinytė’s joint exhibition “ŽIOTYS”

On October 10th at 4 PM, the exhibition “Žiotys” by artists Martyna Plioplytė-Zujienė and Liucija Dervinytė will open at the Lithuanian Artists’ Association Kaunas department gallery “Drobė” (Drobės St. 62-308, Kaunas). The exhibition explores a state of encounter and transition – a place where traces of human activity enter living systems and become part of them. Where a river flows into the sea, the clear boundary between one system and the other begins to fade. Different waters meet, and with them moves whatever they carry.

In the exhibition, different materials, images and fragments of information create a relationship between what is man-made and what we call the environment. What initially appears to be separate begins to function as part of a single system.

The artists’ creative dialogue began whilst they were still studying for their Master’s degrees in Textile Art at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and has continued since 2023 through joint projects, exhibitions and artworks. They are linked not only by textiles as a creative medium, but also by a close relationship with the environment, consumer culture and human responsibility within it. In “Žiotys”, two independent artistic practices converge in a shared field of exploration, where individual works coexist alongside collaborative pieces and processes.

Here, “Žiotys” is not merely a geographical location. It is a zone of encounter where it becomes difficult to say precisely where one ends and the other begins.

The exhibition will run until 3 November.

Additional events are planned to coincide with the exhibition – a collaborative art-making workshop and a screening of the documentary film „Ocean with David Attenborough“. We will publish further details shortly.
